Accord People are currently recruiting for Lead/Senior Subsea Project Engineers for one of their subsea Aberdeen-based clients on a full-time, contract basis.
Due to recent contract awards and continued growth, we are seeking highly experienced Senior and Lead Subsea Project Engineers to join our expanding UK business. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an integrated, vessel-based environment delivering complex subsea projects across IRM, construction, decommissioning, and diving operations.
Role Overview
The Senior / Lead Subsea Project Engineer will provide technical leadership across subsea projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery. The role requires strong hands-on experience in subsea engineering and offshore operations, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight and engineering support for subsea projects from planning through execution and close-out.
- Lead and support subsea IRM activities, including inspections, repairs, and maintenance operations.
- Contribute to subsea construction, decommissioning, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, review, and support geotechnical inspections, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Support and coordinate vessel-based operations, including ROV and diving activities.
- Develop, review, and maintain project documentation, schedules, procedures, and technical reports.
- Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, vessel crews, and internal teams to resolve technical challenges and meet project objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting best engineering practices across the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Marine, Offshore, Subsea, or a related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience for Senior Engineer level; 8–10+ years’ experience for Lead Engineer level.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering subsea projects, including IRM, construction, decommissioning, and commissioning.
- Demonstrated experience with vessel-based operations, including ROV and/or diving support.
- Strong understanding of offshore engineering standards, subsea systems, and industry regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Project management experience or certification (e.g. PMP) is advantageous.
